Bazinga Classic Pub & Grille - Janesville - Friday Night Fish Fry
This entry was posted on 2/3/2012 1:30 AM and is filed under Friday Night Fish Fry.
Down off the main artery of Center Avenue heading to the airport and points further to Beloit you will find several blue-collar bars and taverns. I call them the cinderblocks. No frills, plenty of beer, usually some music on the weekends. One such watering hole sits next to the El-Ra-Bowl. Bazinga Classic Pub & Grille is a chip shot from the Janesville Union Labor Temple. The working faithful will remember that the Bazinga location used to be Jumbo's, a place known to have a few pool tables.
Bazinga still has some pool tables, but I think the theme nowadays is more of a sports bar and eatery presentation. There is ample room as I counted at least 75 chairs in the raised table seating area. The bar is L-shaped with enough room for at least 25 people to sit comfortably. There is plenty of good Wisconsin wood paneling. I noticed a large area set aside for a band or DJ.
The sports bar trend not-with-standing, today we talk fish.
They serve up a dandy two-piece Cod loin fish dinner in a basket. Of course it was beer-battered and deep-fried. Not a crumb did I leave. The potatoes came sliced and fried. The best way to describe the cut was sliced spuds. In lieu of cole slaw I went for the hot mac and cheese side. A fresh dinner roll and butter, the usual tartar sauce, and lemon wedge on the side topped off the deal.
Bazinga Classic Pub & Grille is cool with Cool Dadio. Find them off Center Avenue next to the El-Ra-Bowl. Their official address is 1110 Kellogg Avenue, Janesville, Wisconsin. Call (608) 752-9566 for more information.
Note: You can find a chronological list at the Cool Dadio Media Fish Fry Page of these fish frys as we have visited them. The list presents the most recently visited fish fry at the top, in lieu of alphabetical order.
