Saturday was a busy event day. Mid-June has the local activities piling up, logjamming, and overlapping. I spread the love around, loaded Heide up on the teal and cream Harley, and we hit three events. I think I will make a separate posting for each one.
I saw an actual article in the Janesville Gazette for the second annual St. Paul Lutheran Church Brat Fest. It was put on as a benefit. It sounds like the event helps fund a youth gathering in Missouri as well as a partnership with a Lutheran group in Tisovec, Slovakia.
To our surprise they only took donations for their meal. They offered up brats, hot dogs, some good potato salad, and the usual fix'ns. Somebody had made some tasty lemonade. Of course, there was some homemade desserts. If you wanted to participate in any of the activities on sight, you needed to buy tickets. Most of the activities looked kid oriented.
Dadio in no expert, but I only saw the one article touting the event in a paper last week. I did not notice any other references to the event in any weekly calenders or other publications. Did not find it on the Web site either. Don't get me wrong. I miss a lot of postings with my work schedule being what it is.
Non-the-less, when I do have my foot in an event, I might consider not being so humble about putting out a shingle and posting the event more. Also, I would have charged for the eats. But maybe donations works just fine for them. But, that is why Dadio is a writer and and not an event coordinator.
St. Paul Lutheran Church and School is at 210 South Ringold Street. They are not that far from downtown Janesville on the near south side of town. Pencil them in for next year. Call (608) 754 - 4471 for more information.
