Crusin' Chubbys Gentlemen's Club - Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin - Dadio academic strip club critique
This entry was posted on 4/20/2010 1:57 AM and is filed under Strip club academic critique, Wha'd'fuck.
I have heard Crusin' Chubbys Gentlemen's Club advertised on Madison, Wisconsin radio enough times. Last week I had business up in the Wisconsin Dells - "The Dells" - so being as old as I am, second chances are a precarious risk, so...wha'd'fuck?
I am going to plant Crusin' Chubbys in my "Wha'd'fuck?" Category as well as the standard "Academic Review." It's not their fault. It is just a monstrosity of a guy-phallic place, and I, well, I am a humble blue-collar schlep. The place shouts out at you from the outside as a North woods, varnished log exterior complex. They own the restaurant and adult-only camp ground complex across the street as well.
I got there right as they opened at five p.m. on a Tuesday night. In typical stripper fashion, the girls were putting themselves together backstage so I had the place to myself for a moment or two. But, that gave me a good chance to eye the place over. At the risk of getting the doorman in trouble, he did not charge me the ten dollar cover charge. He felt bad the girls were not out yet. So management, to door man dude's credit, that thoughtful gesture kept me there a bit longer than I would have normally spent.
My general impression was this joint is, all-guy-all-the-time architecture. There is a real Leinenkugel Beer canoe hanging over the bar. That bar is thick North woods polished and heavily varnished pine. There are three bars on ground level. The whole of the interior matches the exterior - "Nort" hunting lodge A-frame. There is a huge stone fire place and adjacent on one side you should find some taxidermed critters. Behind the courtesy bar on the other side of the fireplace, you will find pictures sent back from Iraq by military guys who liked to remember the club.
Straight up lets divulge I spent my time on the ground floor. I counted two dance floors; six poles, three bars; one pool table; a lap dance room boasting 20 Buck lap dances; and, the consummate disco ball hanging from the ceiling amongst the pine rafters.
They tell me there is a shower dance facility in the basement, and from my vantage point I could see the large second floor balcony-esque V.I.P area. They note those V.I.P. dances are 40 Bucks. I did not see a D.J. booth, but clubs are phasing them out and the music is often controlled by the doorman nowadays.
Somebody put some thought into logistics. I have pointed out clubs before that put televisions up without thinking about location and they distract from the dancers. You will not find any media distractions in Chubbys. To further belabor the point, there are no chairs along the huge wood bar. You are instinctively drawn to the chairs at the dance floor - hence tips for the dancers. I am a stander anyway and there is a sturdy foot step under the bar to prop a tired dog up on.
They tell me there is another Chubbys in Stanley, Wisconsin. This "Dells" Chubbys however, does not seem to offer any happy hour or cover deals during the week. "Wha'd'fuck?" But, let's be fair; the place is what it is. Dads, significants, and boyfriends bring the family to the Dells for a romp in the water park capital of the world and well, said dude needs a break from the tourist frenzy, right?
Cool Dadio recommends that before you kick the bucket in this life you might want to pop into Crusin' Chubbys at least once before you die. Trust the Dadio on this one; it will be too late when the nursing assistant is wiping applesauce off your chin.
Find Crusin' Chubbys at N576 Highway 12, Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. It's exit 85 off Interstate 90/94; then you head west on Highway 12/16. Just a bit up the road you will find the Cursin' Chubbys Gentlemen's Club complex. Call (608) 253 - 5958 for more information; or, visit the Web site at: www.cruisinchubbys.com .
