Paradise City Gentlemen's Club - Portage, Wisconsin - Dadio academic strip club critique
This entry was posted on 4/6/2010 2:16 AM and is filed under Strip club academic critique, Taverns Wisconsin.
Up in the great snowy North of Wisconsin - us guys down on the Southern Wisconsin State Line call anything above Madison, "Up Nort" - you will find Paradise City Gentlemen's Club. It is just below "the Dells," a bit off the consummate Wisconsin Interstate Highway 90/94 to the west on Highway 33. This is definately in the country. But have no fear, the Wisconsin tourist culture is down the road, and the girly club is in the shadows of Cascade Mountain ski resort.
The day I popped in, there was a tree cutting ordeal going on at said gentlemen's club property. There was much consternation about the method to be used to fell said tree, and then afterwards a card game was in order in the club.
They tell me the place is under new management. There is a happy hour from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. You can get a 16 ounce Miller Lite for two Bucks - not bad considering you are looking at boobies and other portfolio. There are plenty of other non-adult entertainment places around that qualify as "sausage factories" that have zero boobies to be found on sight and will charge you four Bucks for a warm glass of beer. I for one, am cool with the ladies. I slid in during happy hour and was not charged a cover.
There is a chest-high fire place in the corner of the upper level dance area. There is also a lower level dance area off the bar. The DJ computer is in the bar area; not like the good old days of a DJ booth. Behind the bar you might notice a freshly painted brown cinder block wall.
The lap-dance area is off the bar in a private room - I did not peek in. There is an upstairs they are using for a V.I.P. area.
The bar top is synthetic; but, there is a hell of a wood leaning board on the bar to put your elbows on. There is an interesting four-section ice chest behind the bar on the shelf to keep beer cool. Of course there is a step for your tired-ass feet under the bar.
On the day I was there, the girls were chatty. The bar tender was nice, and everyone there made me feel welcome. The dancers basically dance quasi-nude. It seemed like while I was there, the girls kept on their G-Strings but if you pay attention while you sit down by the dance floor, you might get a good eye-full of artistic license.
