Up on the north side of Lake Koshkonong, not too far off Highway 106 you will find Norm's Hideaway Bar and Grill.  Before you go, either call or check your lake map well.  Those old lake roads can get you way backwards.  Get there early it crowds up fast.  We arrived at a quarter-to-four and got right in, but by the time we finished we had to weave our way through all the people.

Their biography on the menu boasts the place has been some kind of tavern or another for 90 years.  There is a nice view from at least two sides of the place of the lake. There is a patio for warmer weather. There will be a collection of old boats motors on the patio rail.  Inside, there are taxidermed beasts asunder.  There is a main bar and an eating area bar.  They use both.

There is definitely North-woods theme.  The walls and ceilings brag up the pine theme.  The tables are lodge style heavy wood.

The menu is thorough and you will have several fish choices.  You need to order before you seat yourself.  Make sure you get your act together before you sit down.  Once your food is on the way, they rock and roll with it and don't play patty-cake with indecision.  You might find Ol' Norm himself bringing your plates out.

I tried the 3-piece beer-battered Cod.  My fish had a good flaky texture. Heide opted for the Parmesan-crusted Cod.  Heide's Mom Chris went for the Blue Gills.  We had potato pancakes with apple sauce all around. There is good creamy tarter in a bottle on your table.

They do not take credit cards but there is an ATM machine. With adult beverages and tip, the three of us got out of there for about 40 Bucks.  Norm's Hideaway Bar and Grill is cool with Cool Dadio.  Take Loga Road off Highway 106 toward the lake.  Turn right on Carcajou and then left on Kuehn.   Call (608) 884  -  4832 for more information.
