Sweney's Supper Club - Milton - Friday Night Fish Fry

Print the article

This entry was posted on 11/27/2009 7:21 PM and is filed under Supper Clubs Wisconsin, Friday Night Fish Fry.

You will probably find Ol' Jeff Sweney working a banquet or party down in the basement.  But, up above the banquet room you will find a dandy fish fry.  The sign still says Luke's but the new-esque supper club digs are those of Sweney's Supper Club.

Sweney's offers up a fish fry boasting a choice of homemade potato pancakes, backed potatoes, or hash browns.  There will be a basket of rolls and bread sticks, and of course,a choice of cole slaw , salad, or soup.  Heide got the Perch (set her back 10 Bucks) with potato pancakes and salad (with French and Ranch dressing, a construct my mom used to always insist on).  I opted for the fired Cod (set me back nine Bucks) with hash browns and a cup of onion soup .  They even make something utilitarian like hash browns taste royal.

The walls are adorned with pictures for sale.  That little ambiance reminds me of restaurants Heide and I have patronized in places like current Viet Nam, and our own neighboring Madison and Milwakee. The place is warm and friendly - the bathrooms are spotless.

Sweney's Supper Club is cool with Cool Dadio.  Find them at 118 Merchant Row (that's the old Milton Junction), Milton, Wisconsin. Call: (608) 868  -  2022 for more information.

He joined the military in July 2003. Isaiah graduated from Bay Port High School in Green Bay Wisconsin.
