Mac's Pizza Shack - Janesville - Saturday Night Pizza

This entry was posted on 9/26/2008 5:10 AM and is filed under Saturday Night Pizza.

A little over a year ago Bill McMullin and company left behind the Happy Joe's Pizza and Ice Cream franchise and struck off on their own.  The place has been Mac's Pizza Shack since then.  I have not had a chance to get over to the place since the change.  My schedule being what it is, the less than one mile ride as the crow flies worked for me this week.

Bill took my order on the phone.  I went to pick it up to check up on the place.  The two pizzas and cheese garlic bread was coming out of the oven as I arrived. Bill has a customer friendly demeanor and a positive presence. He reminded me he had been part of the place for 30 years.

I ordered a large thin-crust pepperoni.  With a coupon from Woodman's Grocery I got a medium thin-crust pizza with onions to go with the deal.  I also ordered four pieces cheese garlic bread.  The pizza crust has a unique taste. It is quite subtle and pleasing to my pallet. The cheese garlic bread was also thoughtfully prepared - it had an Italian bread flavor.

Mac's Pizza Shack is cool with Cool Dadio.  Find them at 2307 Milton Avenue in Janesville, Wisconsin.  Call 756  -  4191 for more info and/or visit their site on the local paper's business Web site.
