Just a neighborhood fest - short and sweet

Years ago now, perhaps 1993, Heide and I took my Mom - when she was still with us -  to the "Good Neighbor Fest" in Middleton, Wisconsin.  In those days, Heide and I lived down the road a bit on the south side of Madison.  I worked at the Bruce Company out of Middleton.  They are a large landscape and retail company.

One of my themes in moving back to Wisconsin was to reconnect with the many local fests each summer.  "The Good Neighbor Fest"  is just down the street from the Bruce Company headquarters.  After our 1993 visit, my fest theme seemed to get lost in the daily toils of getting on in life.  This summer I have been on a vigil to find the "Fest."  Even  though I work all night on both Friday and Saturday nights, I realized a second wind and flew up to Middleton on the teal and cream Harley on Saturday to revisit the "Good Neighbor Fest."

There was a brat tent, a corn tent, and the Scouts have a Friday fish fry tent.  There is no fee to get into the fest.  I parked the teal and cream within a few feet of the entrance.  You have to buy tickets to get beer etcetera in the beer tent.  I noticed they have two beer tents at this fest.

"The Good Neighbor Fest" in Middleton, Wisconsin is cool with Cool Dadio.  Look for them toward the end of every August.  They have been doing the fest annually since Lyndon Johnson was President.
