I got a chance to stop by the Rock County Beef Producers' Cookout this evening. It is held at the Rock County Fair Grounds in Janesville, Wisconsin. I buzzed over there on the teal and cream Harley. The steaks were already fired up by 4:00 p.m.
They offered a 12-ounce sirloin with baked potato, sweet corn, and a drink for 12 Bucks. I opted for the 6-ounce steak sandwich offered also with bakeed potato, sweet corn, and beverage for eight Bucks. They also had a burger option. My 6-ounce steak and all the fix'ns was plenty big enough.
There was a good crowd despite a bit of rain. My cousin Bill McRoberts tapped me on the shoulder to say "Hi." As fate would have it he was playing steel guitar in the band at the cookout. The band, Joe Roberts and the Country Classics took the stage while I was just finishing my steak.
The Rock County Beef Producers' Cookout is cool with Cool Dadio. Be sure to check it out again next year. It has been an annual event since the 1970s.
