Just bowling and burgers in this special Sunday blog posting - short and sweet.

On Sunday Heide and I drove down to River's Edge Bowl in downtown Janesville, Wisconsin.  The gal at the desk explained they were in the process of installing synthetic floors.  We chose to bowl a couple games on one of the remaining wood lanes.  The lady said synthetic floors are a big deal "up north" and making their way down our way.  She said the teams and bowlers like the switch because bigger tournament facilities usually use synthetic floors.  The bowlers like to then train all year on synthetic since that is what they will usually be facing at a big event.

River's Edge Bowl offers a variety of daily bowling and eating special deals.  See the River's Edge Bowl Web site at
www.riversedge.2gobowl.com.  We opted for the Sunday Family Special - $1.65 per-game, per-person for all ages from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.  We each bowled a couple games.

They also have a Sunday Quartermania which include a $5.00 cover per person and then .25 cents per game, per shoe rental, per hot dog, per soda.  This also includes .50 cent per 12 ounce beer taps.

They have a nice little kitchen to fry you up some burgers and onion rings.  A couple cheeseburgers, an order of fries, soda pop, and an order of onion rings ran us about 12 Bucks.

River's Edge Bowl is cool with Cool Dadio.  It is a great way to spend an afternoon. Since the gasoline prices have become criminal, try a day at the bowling alley.  Find them at 215 South River Street in downtown Janesville.  Call
(608) 756-1201 for more information.
