Randy's Restaurant - Whitewater - Friday Night Fish Fry

Randy's Restaurant and Fun Hunter's Brewery is near and dear to my roots. I remember going there for a couple of banquets honoring our 1973 high school football team. If you have any connection to Whitewater, Wisconsin you surely know about Randy's. They have a dramatic stint in their history as at one point their old building was burned down by arsonists who it turned out, owned a competing restaurant in town. These days they have also expanded their business into micro brewing. Tonight however, we talk fish.
Heide tried the baked Cod and I as usual, chose the deep fried Atlantic Cod. Randy's preparation of the deep fried Cod is memorable because you can just flake off a fork full with a light touch. Heide says the baked is tender and flakes off with the touch of the fork as well. Both fish options are all-you-can-eat. It is rather unusual in fish fry world that baked fish is also offered as all-you-can-eat. I also enjoy their corn fritters. For a couple Bucks you can add the soup and salad bar. Their salad bar is far above average. They have twice as many options as most places. I also noticed they have a person assigned to manage the salad bar. We both chose potato pancakes for our potato option. You will get some fresh bread and pads of butter with your meal and fritters. Their tartar sauce is smooth and creamy.
Randy's Restaurant and Fun Hunter's Brewery is cool with Cool Dadio. Remember Randy's is a super club construct, so it is just a bit more expense than a tavern - but not too much more. After our sodas, coffee, adding the salad bar option, meal, and tip, the two of us got out of there for just under thirty Dollars. Call (262) 473-8000 for more info and menu selections. Randy's is located on the east side edge of Whitewater on City Hwy 12. Also visit Randy's Web site.
