Georgio's Restaurant - Milton - Saturday Night Pizza

In the interest of full disclosure, my wife went to high school with George. I met George at a bar I used to bartend at over 25 years ago in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. George was always a nice guy and an interesting conversationalist. We lost track of George for 25 years. One day a couple years ago, my mother-in-law mentioned she could have sworn she had heard George was running a pizza restaurant in Milton, Wisconsin now. She remembered we both knew George from our Lake Geneva days and Milton is of course only six miles from our house in Janesville where we have lived for a few years now. I stopped in Georgio's in Milton one day after work and sure enough there was George laboring away behind the counter of his pizza place.
But, you don't get on Cool Dadio's restaurant list because you are an old long lost friend. You get on the list because your food is good. I don't do reviews about places where the fish fry or pizza are below par. If your stuff is not worthy of print, you just won't find your restaurant in the Cool Dadio list.
Heide and I headed out on the teal and cream Harley recently to check on Georgio's Pizza and Italian Food. George was there as always in the kitchen. We had called ahead for reservations. That night it was a good idea because it was busy.
Georgio's thin crust is like a specialty pizza from Chicago. It has a great spicy taste you just won't get at a chain pizza joint. We usually order pepperoni and onions. We got a 14 inch. There was not a crumb left. Next time we will get the 16 inch or maybe a 10 inch to go so we can have left overs the next day. Heide ordered a house salad and she shared it with me. The salad was crispy and fresh. My mom got us in the habit of getting both Ranch and French dressing with our salads. The whole thing with a drink cost just over 20 dollars. George's wife Cheryl always has a different cheesecake selection each week. You will not be disappointed.
Georgio's Pizza is cool with Cool Dadio. They open at 4:00 p.m. and close when the customers taper off. Get there early in case they have decided to call it a day. They are closed on Mondays. Georgio's Pizza and Italian Foods is located at 301 Parkview Drive, Milton Wisconsin. Call (608) 868-4872 and inquire about their other pizza and Italian offerings.
